The comparison of spectrums -
all daylight lamps are not "full spectrum"
The term "full spectrum light" is widely misused. All daylight lamps are not full spectrum lamps. Already the price indicates, if the lamp is full spectrum or not.

Here is the comparison of three daylight lamps. All lamps should be full spectrum - at least the manufacturer tells so. There are big difference in the spectrums by non-full spectrum and full spectrum lamp. However, the spectrum is better than by standard 3-band lamp.

The upper spectrums are measured by OPL "Pocket" Diffraction Grating Spectroscope  and the lower spectrums by Project Star  Spectrometer.  Energy class also tells about the quality of the light. Class B has more continuous (better) spectrum and lower lumens.

Androv energy saving lamp, 32 W, 1600 lumens, 6000 K, CRI 95, 10,000 hours. Required energy class is missing (may be A).
"Daylight" energy saving lamp, 11 W, 600 lumens, 6500 K, CRI 85, 8,000 hours. Energy class A.
Viva-Lite energy saving lamp, 32 W, 1400 lumens, 6000 K, CRI 97, 12,000 hours. Energy class B.
Androv energy saving lamp. The spectrum indicates that it is not high quality full spectrum lamp.
"Daylight" energy saving lamp. The spectrum indicates that it is not high quality full spectrum lamp.
Viva-Lite energy saving lamp. The spectrum indicates that it is high quality full spectrum lamp.

On the left Viva-Lite lamp, on the right Androv lamp. Because there is much more blue in the Androv lamp (6000 K), the colors are not as correct as by daylight at noon (5500K). For people, who has lived many years in warm light (2700 - 3000 K), likes according our experience more of 5500 K light than 6000 K light because it is not so blue.

Also it is much more pleasant to look at the 5500 K light than to 6000 K light according our experience.
Blue is good color in the mornings but not in the evenings. We recommend the Light blocking glasses at least one hour earlier in the evening, if you are using over 6000 K light. There are no long term studies, how high colour temperature light affects to the peoples health. We know that people have lived millions of years in 5500 K (or also in warmer light in the mornings and in the evenings) light and it is the best for the people. We believe so and so tells also many scientific studies.
