Lighting evaluation of the Pori Holiday Home Fair
|
Lighting designer Ilkka Pekanheimo has made the lighting evaluation of the Pori Holiday Home Fair (13.6. – 6.7.2008). He has given the school degree numbers used in Finland at the end of some evaluations:
- (8) = rather good lighting (the best, number 10, was not found, because no full spectrum light was used. ;o)
- (4) = bad lighting (most halogens, blending, fire accident possibility)
Evaluation was made at 12.6.2008.
Different houses (see the evaluation numbers, if no number, the ranking is between 5 and 7). There are also some Viva-Lite brand names mentioned, where I recommend to test Viva-Lite and replace the incandescent with Viva-Lite.
See the following houses from the link here.

We have commented also the speech The Minister of the Interior in Finland at the opening ceremony of the fair.
Safety, also fire safety, is important. Target is, that Finland will be the most safe country in Europe in 2015.
AD-Lux has evaluated and photographed fire and other risks in these houses: 2, 5, 9, 10, 14, 18, 22 ja 28. Because of fire safety we should not use incandescent and halogen lamps any more.
We must consider more the light quality and safety of elderly people when planning houses.
Lighting is important for elderly people.
AD-Lux recommends light, where the eyes can see best. This is important for elderly people, who do not see in the warm toned light, which is common in houses. This causes unnecessery accidents. Daylight lighting would help also in reading.
The manager of The Housing Fair told that we must consider also the climate change in living and building houses.
AD-Lux: We should not use lamps, which has bad effect on climate change and which use too much energy: these are incandescent lamps and halogens.
